1.YOGA FUNDAMENTALS (FOR BEGINNERS)

Yoga Fundamentals teaches the essential practices and principles of yoga to those who are at the beginning of their yogic journey or have not received training in the Satyananda Yoga tradition. It is advised to go through this program at least twice to strengthen your foundation.

Five classes are held daily, five days a week (Mon–Fri), at different times of the day. Each class is for one hour, with the first class at 6 am. Some of the classes are held offline at the ashram every day and some are held online. However, it is our endeavor to hold at least some classes in the month or the week at the ashram for every batch, so participants are able to benefit from the positive energy present here.

In the Jan-March schedule, the 6 am and 7 am classes will be held at the ashram premises daily. The evening class at 6.30 pm will be held at the ashram twice a week and online on the other days. The mid-morning class at 11 am will be held at the ashram twice a month. All classes will also be streamed online.

Early Morning Batch: 6.00–7.00 am (IST), Mon–Fri (Offline daily + Online)

Morning Batch: 7.00–8.00 am (IST), Mon–Fri (Offline daily + Online)

Mid-morning Batch: 11.00 am–12 noon (IST), Mon–Fri (Offline twice a month + Online)

Evening Batch: 6.30–7.30 pm (IST), Mon–Fri (Offline twice a week + Online)

2. YOGA SADHANA LEVEL 1 (BEYOND FUNDAMENTALS)

Yoga Sadhana Level 1 classes are aimed at yoga practitioners who have completed the Fundamentals course and wish to continue their sadhana under guidance to deepen their experience and understanding. It is advised to go through this program for atleast one year to develop a good understanding of the practices and principles.

The schedule is similar to Fundamentals: three classes a day, each of one hour, all held Mon–Fri. In the Jan-Mar programs, The 11 am mid morning class will be held at the ashram twice a month. All classes will also be streamed online.

Morning Batch: 7.00–8.00 am (IST), Mon–Fri (Online only)

Mid-morning Batch: 11.00 am–12 noon (IST), Mon–Fri (Offline twice a month + Online)

Evening Batch: 6.30–7.30 pm (IST), Mon–Fri (Online only)

AIMS OF YOGA FUNDAMENTALS & YOGA SADHANA LEVEL 1 PROGRAMS

  • Overcoming physical blocks and developing physical resilience and wellbeing.

  • Balance, expansion and upliftment of prana, the vital energy.

  • Developing the ability to recognize thoughts and emotions and consciously channel them towards the positive.

  • Developing the ability to apply wisdom.

  • Developing the ability to apply the principles of karma yoga and yogic awareness in daily life.


3.YOGA SADHANA LEVEL 2 (DEEPENING THE EXPERIENCE)

Yoga Sadhana Level 2 has been created for those who have participated for one year in the Yoga Sadhana program.

It intends to take one deeper into the various aspects that yoga sadhana covers: the body, the breath, the prana, the mind, the emotions, the lifestyle. The aim is to sharpen and widen one’s experience and understanding so there is greater vitality at all levels and one’s potential as a complete human being unfolds.

In Jan-Mar, both the morning and evening sessions will be conducted three days in a week, with each class of 1.5 hours duration.

Morning Batch: 6.00–7.30 am (IST), Mon, Wed, Fri (Offline + Online)

Evening Batch: 6.00–7.30 pm (IST), Mon, Wed, Fri (Offline+ Online)

4. YOGA CLASS IN KANNADA

During Jan-Mar, the Kannada class will be held thrice a week at the ashram from 11 am to 12.15 pm. Homemakers in particular may find it convenient to join this class after finishing their morning chores. The class combines the principles of Fundamentals and Sadhana.

Mid-Morning: 11 am–12.15 pm (IST), Mon, Tue, Fri (Offline + Online)

5. YOGA CLASS IN HINDI

A special class is being introduced at the ashram thrice weekly from 11 am to 12.15 pm in Hindi language to encourage a wide section of society to practice yoga and adopt it as a lifestyle. The class combines the principles of Fundamentals and Sadhana.

Mid-Morning: 11 am–12.15 pm (IST), Mon, Wed, Fri (Offline + Online)

ALL PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE PRACTICES OF:

  • Mantra

  • Asana

  • Pranayama

  • Mudra

  • Pratyahara

  • Dharana

  • Yogic lifestyle

  • Discussions on these subjects from time to time.


All classes are taught in English except the ones specifically mentioned in Kannada/Hindi.


If you wish to participate offline at the ashram premises, please go through the information carefully regarding the schedule of offline classes, and inform accordingly while registering.

All classes will be simultaneously streamed online via Zoom.
