Yoga Fundamentals & Yoga Sadhana

LIST OF COURSES & SCHEDULES:

1.YOGA FUNDAMENTALS (FOR BEGINNERS)

Yoga Fundamentals teaches the essential practices and principles of yoga to those who are at the beginning of their yogic journey or have not received training in the Satyananda Yoga tradition. It is advised to go through this program at least twice to strengthen your foundation.

Six classes are held at different times of the day, including a class in Kannada. An early morning class of 1.5 hours is held thrice a week – for those who have the time and the inclination for a longer span of experience. This class is being held at the ashram and also online. All other classes are of 40-minute duration, held six days a week – aimed at those who are restricted by time yet wish to maintain a daily practice.

The Saturday evening classes are held earlier at 5.30 pm, in order to enable everyone to participate in the Mahamrityunjaya Havan held at the ashram, should they wish to do so.

Early Morning Batch: 6–7.30 am, Tue, Thurs, Sat (Offline + Online)

Morning Batch: 7.00–7.40 am, Mon–Sat

Mid-morning Batch: 11–11.40 am, Mon–Sat

Early Evening Batch: 4–4.40 pm, Mon–Sat

Evening Batch: 6.30–7.10 pm, Mon–Sat (Sat class 5.30–6.10 pm)

Kannada Batch: 11–11.40 am, Mon–Sat

2.YOGA SADHANA LEVEL 1 (BEYOND FUNDAMENTALS)

Yoga Sadhana Level 1 classes are aimed at yoga practitioners who have completed the Fundamentals course and wish to continue their sadhana under guidance to deepen their experience and understanding. It is advised to go through this program for at least one year to develop a good understanding of the practices and principles.

The schedule is similar to Fundamentals: six classes a day, with an early morning class of 1.5 hours thrice a week and all other classes of 40 minutes held daily. The 7 am class is being held at the ashram as well as online.

AIMS OF YOGA FUNDAMENTALS & YOGA SADHANA LEVEL 1 PROGRAMS

  • Overcoming physical blocks and developing physical resilience and wellbeing. Balance, expansion and upliftment of prana, the vital energy.

  • Developing the ability to recognize thoughts and emotions and consciously channel them towards the positive.

  • Developing the ability to apply wisdom.

  • Developing the ability to apply the principles of karma yoga and yogic awareness in daily life.

3.YOGA SADHANA LEVEL 2 (DEEPENING THE EXPERIENCE)

Yoga Sadhana Level 2 has been created for those who have participated for one year in the Yoga Sadhana program.

It intends to take one deeper into the various aspects that yoga sadhana covers: the body, the breath, the prana, the mind, the emotions, the lifestyle. The aim is to sharpen and widen one’s experience and understanding so there is greater vitality at all levels and one’s potential as a complete human being unfolds.

The morning class is of 1.5 hours held thrice a week at the ashram whereas the evening class is of 40 minutes held daily.

ALL PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE PRACTICES OF:

  • Mantra

  • Asana

  • Pranayama

  • Mudra

  • Pratyahara

  • Dharana

  • Yogic lifestyle

  • Discussions on these subjects from time to time.

All classes are taught in English except the ones specifically mentioned in Kannada.
