The end of the year is usually the time when we reflect upon the year that has gone by and create a vision for the year that is yet to come. Learning from the past and forging ahead with conviction, hope and faith requires us to have a specific power. It is called sankalpa shakti. Sankalpa means 'an appropriate and focused intention or resolution' and the force that it carries along for its fruition is called sankalpa shakti. This shakti is inherent in every individual but has to be awakened by yoga sadhana. It is a process of training the mind. Many times, because of our undisciplined way of life, we weaken our will and sankalpa helps to strengthen it. Through sankalpa shakti, we can recognise and come out of our negative habit patterns and lead a joyous and fulfilling life.

The five-day Sankalpa Sadhana program will consist of both theory and yogic practices. It will cover the following subjects:

  • what is sankalpa

  • How to decide our sankalpa

  • Means of minimizing distractions

  • How to nurture the sankalpa and awaken sankalpa shakti

  • Achieving the goal

Instructions for participants to all classes:

  • The practices are suitable for all levels of flexibility and fitness

  • Please wear comfortable clothing for ease of movement

  • Ensure that you have not eaten for at least 2 hours before class
